🐾 Story 3 - Lucky’s Worst Day: Bobby Ate Her Hat
The third misadventure of Lucky and Bobby:
It all began on a perfectly peaceful Sunday morning.
Lucky had just fluffed her velvet cushion, slipped into her favorite soft pink dress, and placed her signature hat a delicate blush-pink one with a matching bow-right beside her milk bowl. Outside the window, golden sunlight spilled across the floor, dancing gently through the leaves. Everything was quiet. Elegant. Serene.
And then…
CRASH.
Bobby burst through the room like a flying furball.
“Morning, Lucky!” he barked, tongue out, goggles crooked, tail thumping like a drum. “What’re you wearin’? You look like a princess!”
Lucky blinked slowly. “That’s because I am one.”
Bobby plopped down beside her, his red toy airplane bouncing onto the rug. For a brief moment… peace.
Then his eyes locked onto the hat.
“What’s this squishy pink frisbee?” he asked.
Without turning her head, Lucky replied: “It’s. Not. A. Frisbee.”
“Oh,” Bobby said, sniffing. “It smells like… strawberries!”
Before Lucky could stop him, it was already too late.
He licked it.
Then bit it.
Then… ate it.
Lucky froze. Her eyes widened. Her tail twitched-once, very slowly.
Bobby chewed thoughtfully. “Hmm. Bit chewy. Not really strawberry. Tastes like… sock fuzz with a hint of… perfume?”
Silence. The kind that makes even sunlight feel nervous.
Then Lucky stood. Calm. Controlled. Deadly.
“YOU. ATE. MY. HAT.”
Bobby gave a sheepish grin. “I thought it was dessert!”
“I don’t wear dessert,” she hissed.
“Well,” Bobby said, wagging, “maybe you should! Fashion you can eat? That’s innovation!”
Lucky turned away, tail flicking like a silk whip. “This is the worst day of my life.”
Bobby’s ears drooped. “I didn’t mean to ruin it…”
Lucky glanced at him. At his crumb-dusted face. At the empty spot where her hat had once been. And for a second… just a second… Bobby thought he saw mercy.
But he was wrong.
With the grace only a cat could manage, Lucky picked up Bobby’s beloved red toy airplane, walked calmly to her milk bowl…
PLOP.
She dropped it in.
Then looked back over her shoulder, eyes cool and gleaming.
“Fair’s fair.”
